Diploma in Islamic Early Childhood Education

Introduction
The Diploma in Islamic Early Childhood Education (DCE) program develops the foundations for future early childhood educators in educating young children from newborn to 8 years. Early childhood education is a challenging profession, in which one helps children lay the foundation for their overall skill development and for succeeding in life. Early years studies confirm what educators have known for years: that what happens early in life sets the "wiring" for the brain's future functioning.

The focus of DCE program is balance between physical, moral, social, cognitive and spiritual development. The students are assessed on their ability to demonstrate learning outcomes in both academics and field work, as outlined by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

Programme Outcomes
Upon completion of the programme, graduates will be able to:-
Able to apply introductionary knowledge and understanding of early childhood education at the diploma level.
Able to plan and safely conduct simple scientific investigations, organize and transform raw data into tables and graphs.
Able to identify and suggest possible techniques and skills necessary for all practices pertaining to early childhood issues.
Able to verbally communicate information and ideas proficiently both verbally and in writing.
Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Able to apply values, ethical standards and professionalism in their careers or academic pursuits.
Able to engage in life-long learning.
Able to acquire and apply managerial and entrepreneurial skills.
Able to demonstrate leadership skills. 

Programme Details
A student has to acquire 92 credit hours to complete this programme.

Assessment
The students is assessed by different type of assessment according to the course. The assessment can be quiz, assignment, presentation and final examination.

Entry Requirements
Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/O-Levels with 3 credits or any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.
